If you are a paid-up Kent Debating member, you are all eligible to take part in the final IVs of the term! These are fantastic opportunities to improve your public speaking, sharpen your critical thinking, receive feedback from experienced debaters, and step up to the national debating circuit.

We’re going to King’s IV this Saturday, and Birmingham IV on the 17th of December.

Kings IV is a one day event, you’ll leave on the Saturday and spend the day debating in London. Birmingham IV is a weekend affair, and an opportunity to squeeze in some more debating experience before next term’s IVs.

If you are interested in attending, please email info@kentdebating.co.uk ASAP

This Tuesday, at 6pm in Keynes LT6, we’ll be running another training session. This is a great opportunity for everyone to give debating a go, particularly before the last of this term’s IVs.

We’ll be running a short workshop beforehand, so even if you are a complete beginner feel free to come along and receive training from debaters with experience on the national circuit.

As always, we’ll be heading to K-Bar afterwards for drinks.

    See you on Tuesday!

We’re hosting our debate on the Monarchy on Tuesday evening. Sebastian Payne of Kent’s Law School will be our guest lecturer and guest judge for the evening.

Come along for enlightenment on this topic, as well as a good debate. As always, we’ll be in Keynes LT6 at 6pm, and we’ll be heading to K-Bar afterwards to continue debating over drinks.

We’re heading to more IVs over the course of the next few weeks, so if you’re interested in getting some competition experience under your belt be sure to come along.
